Private Therapy Dog Visits
A personalized visit with a therapy dog meant to uplift and enhance the quality of life around those being visited. These sessions incorporate Animal-Assisted Activities (AAA) that are adapted to the specific client. Our goal is to provide a calm, caring and relaxing environment with a Registered Nurse and Certified therapy dog. Sessions can be scheduled for yourself or as a gift to a loved one (with their consent). After each visit, we send a "pup"date email with a photo from the visit, and updates about the visit. A few examples of ways we can provide pet therapy for you or a loved one:
- Weekly or monthly therapy dog visits for a loved one feeling isolated or lonely in a nursing home or long term care facility to provide companionship and uplift their spirits. We can even facetime or call family members if requested during the visit as well.
- Visiting a patient prior or after a medical procedure or treatment to bring relaxation and a fun distraction from the medical setting.
- Providing comfort for an individual grieving a recent loss of a family member, friend, or pet.
- Gifting someone a visit that has been in the hospital as a patient that needs a break from the stress and monotony of the healthcare setting.
- Accompanying an adult or child as they navigate a difficult situation that causes anxiety therefore needing a calming distraction from a therapy dog.
Group, Facility, or Corporate Visits
These sessions are meant to boost morale, to lower stress levels, and to offer an enjoyable break for a variety of work environments. Booking a group visit with a therapy dog at your office or facility is a fun way to show your appreciation for your coworkers and/or your employees. A few ideas for group or facility visits:
- A nursing home, rehabilitation facility, or treatment center wanting a therapy dog to visit with staff and residents to brighten their day. This can reduce agitation, anxiety levels, and decrease feelings of loneliness for residents.
- An office or corporate setting looking to boost morale, uplift spirits, and encourage team communication. Observing a therapy dog perform tricks and visiting people can bring smiles to the workplace and renew the energy in the office
- A school or university setting wanting to reduce stress levels and improve mental health for students. Pet therapy can especially be beneficial before testing or finals.
- Having a therapy dog at a large conference or marketing event can attract people to your business's area, create a more relaxed environment, and start the conversation as people pet our therapy dog.
Education Sessions
The goal of a education session with a therapy dog is to foster a safe and open learning environment. These sessions include Animal-Assisted Education (AAE) techniques and can include another professional. Examples of these environments can include:
- A child that is struggling to read with their tutor could benefit from having a calming and “non-judgmental” therapy dog to read to during sessions.
- Anyone with anxiety around dogs from a previous incident who wants to be around a safe dog to start to feel comfortable around dogs again. We can teach about dog safety, reading a dog's behavior, dog communication, and how to slowly feel safe around dogs.
- A patient in occupational or physical therapy setting could benefit from a therapy dog’s presence by boosting their mood, motivation, and potentially reducing pain levels during these sessions.
- A child or adult who has difficulty verbally communicating or interacting with others can utilize the non-judgmental and comforting presence of a therapy dog to interact with during tough therapy or educational settings.
